About Us

My name is Marcus Luft and I'm the founder of The Alcohol Report.

 

I am also the Chief Executive Officer of Sleeping Giant Brewing Co., a craft brewery in Ontario, Canada.

I grew up just outside of Hamilton, Ontario. I studied journalism for my undergraduate degree and have a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Liverpool in the UK. 

​

Most of my career has been spent in another volatile industry, subject to the forces of the international markets, and heavy regulation: automotive.

​

Now leading a craft brewery, I find that many of the issues we face, are the same as automotive manufacturing and retail. 

​

The Alcohol Report was born out of a frustration of finding a good source of reliable news and analysis for the things impacting our industry. 

​

I have been incredibly blessed in my career to have had experiences that relate across industries, and allow me to provide a critical and analytical eye now to the alcohol industry. 

​
